The proposed project is part of the design competition NOTIONS OF INDIA hosted by Tata Structura wherein the main intent of the project was to design an outdoor symbol/sculpture that articulates the essence of the nation and its journey into glorious future. The organisers had only condition to use the YST 355 steel hollow sections as the primary medium for the design. So, we have imitated the Namaste gesture to our inner sculpture which will depict the characteristics of the same. The contemporary look and minimalist design will also help to make the sculpture more pleasant and welcoming. Minimalist design is psychologically proven to declutter our mind and make us feel joyful. Surrounding the sculpture, we’ve made a Lotus petal shaped beehive inspired air cooling system which simply works as an evaporative cooling system. This will greatly impact the micro climate of the surrounding area and will reduce the temperature to a great extent. The cylindrical hollow elongated earthen pots are used and are placed in bee hive manner wherein water is poured on top of these pots and circulating it. The air passes through these pots shaped as cylindrical hollow tubes, it’ll cool the nearby area. We’ve aimed to make the structure self-sufficient and environment friendly which will reduce the negative environmental impact of the structure.
